Coach Hamptons Archive Straw Carryall Review
I love spring and summer for many reasons, one of which is to see the new Coach Handbags for the season. Year after year Coach has kept us on the edge of our seats waiting for the great unveilings of their spring and summer lines, and this year is no exception. If you have big plans this summer to head to the beach, the pool, sporting events, picnics, or hot vacation spots, then you will love the Coach Hamptons Archive Straw Carryall. This bag is perfect for such summer events, and for only about $358, you will be sure to be at the top of the fashion trends.
You may be asking, "What makes the Coach Hamptons Archive Straw Carryall so perfect for summer?" Well, I think the name says it all....straw and carryall. The woven straw fabric says durability and strength while the word "carryall" says the bag will hold everything you could possibly need for your outing. This fashionable bag has a straw body with metallic leather trim as well as mixed leather and jeweled detailing. I usually don't like this type of detail, but it looks great here. This bag measures 14-1/4"L x 9-3/4"H x 6-1/4"W and includes an 18" handle with 8" drop, which is a very nice size bag. The natural look and color of the straw weave will definitely match any summer outfit that you put together for any occassion.
Before going to the inside details of the bag, I would like you to take a look at the picture to get a good look at the central framed compartment and framed clasp with magnetic snap closures for each side. Magnetic closures aren't my favorite because I'm always afraid that things will fall, but by adding the center compartment and the framed clasp as part of the bags main, top closure and security, I don't think I would worry. I really like this idea in fact. Inside you will find the standard Coach interior of fabric lining, inside zip pocket, cellphone and multifunction pockets, and ring to clip an accessory or key fob.
I'm excited about this Coach handbag, and I'm wondering if you are too. Tell me what you think.

I purchased this bag the day it came into Nordstrom. Love at first sight on 4-16-2009. Got compliments from my friends, some of them went straight to Coach to buy one. On 5-19-09. the bag was already frayed around all over due to the softening of the bag and the straws were “broken” all around. Thank goodness for Nordstrom takes anything defective back. I though I just got a lemon, but upon closer look at another one, the straw was already showing sign of fraying. Too bad, such a cute concept and design, but the wrong material. I’m giving Coash one more chance….Planning to buy the Bonnie canvas Jeweled Carryall.

Oh my gosh, Lillian, in just one month. That’s terrible. I’m glad Nordstroms has such a great policy. Thank you for sharing your experience. Women definitely need to know about that. I think you should be very happy with the Coach Bonnie Jeweled Canvas. It is a very fun looking bag. I have a review on it as well and would love your feedback once you get it and use it for awhile.

I just bought this beautiful straw bag last week - lots of compliments everywhere I’ve taken it so far, but now I’m scared becuase of hte fraying comments! I bought mine at a Coach corporate store, so I am certainly hoping if it starts to fray they will stand behind the product

Hi Debbie, You know, I don’t think you have anything to worry about since you purchased your bag directly from Coach. Their customer service and satisfaction is head and shoulders above the rest, and I’m sure they would make things right for you if this happens to your bag.

I purchased this purse on 5-10-09. Used it 3-4 times. The last time at a babyshower I attended. I received numerous compliments of the design. It came a conversation piece ladies there notice the crooked stitching above the coach patch on the side.
The main problem that was notice was a slight dark shading on my purse - possibly the dye off my pants? These weren’t new pants - polyester and washed several times before…my work pants. This has never happened with any purses I owned before. I purchased a cheap fancy Florida straw purse some years ago and its straw still in great shape.
I returned my purse to Coach in Fairlane Mall - Dearborn,MI. They weren’t very customer friendly or accomodating. The lady said it would have to be sent out and evaluated and won’t be back for 6-8 weeks. Not worried about customer satisfaction not a priority. I purchased other purses and wallets from this store and so has my daughter. Never again!
Bottom line this purse is beautiful but too delicate. This purse is meant to be on a shelf and not used.

I just purchased this off of eBay and expect to receive it next week. When I told my husband about the delicate nature of this purse, he said ‘Well, we’ll just have to make a place for it on its own at the top shelf!’ (of our walk in closet)
LOL!
I don’t imagine carrying it more than once a week and I plan to carry it like crown jewels!! Will update here on its status at the end of the summer.

Oh, Marina, that is too funny! Please give us an update after you have carried it for awhile. I would love to hear how it is holding up for you. It would also be helpful if you would like to send a picture of your bag after carrying it for awhile. I would love to do an update post with actual pictures so that women can get a much better idea on how they hold up and what they look like after a little use. Thanks for sharing!
