The New Coach Parker Satchel
The new Coach Parker Satchel has just been introduced, and I must admit that I don't like it. Yes, it's a very roomy bag, 14-1/2"H x 7-1/2"L x 4"W and straps that measure 15-1/4" with 8-1/2" drop, but I just can't seem to get past the large, bulky, twist leather straps. They just look so out of place to me. I really think they could have used a different type strap, and this bag would have a much nicer appeal to it.
Now, aside from the ugly straps, I do like the shape of the bag, the soft, double pleats on each side of the bag and the multiple inner pockets. I don't like this color, We, but the bag does look nice in the violet, black, and sand colors. Ok ladies, tell me what you think about this one.

The straps are the best, most artistic, different and appealing part of this purse. They won’t cut into your shoulder like many straps. Besides, it would be nothing more than a classy, boring Coach satchel if it had normal straps.
Colors are always subjective … I think this one is stunning but it would be hard to keep clean for everyday use. So pick one that suits your needs and preference. At least you know you’re getting top grain, pliable — and in this case — very soft, leather with this company.

I love this bag and believe that I will cherish it forever as long as I take care of it. I love it so much I am seroiusly thinking about buying the same bag in a different color while they are still on sale.

I could not find the style on the coach website but it looks like the one pictured here, except that it has zip pockets on either side and the main compartment has a zip. It also has a separate shoulder strap that clips on at the sides. It’s really cute. $328 MSRP at Lord and Taylor. I just got the parker zip satchel today. It is an eggplant color. I like the fact that it is not so big for I am a very petite person. My only problem is that the clip on strap it a bit long but I can use as a cross body bag and it works. For me it is a very versatile bag and the leather is so soft. And unlike most coach bag it is not screaming “oh I am a coach bag”. Got it sale at Nordstrom for $236. Now that’s a bargain!
